Welcome to the Tri-State Senior Golf Association, a distinguished organization steeped in tradition and camaraderie.
Established on July 7, 1935, with a humble gathering of three members at our inaugural board meeting, our association has grown into a thriving community of golf enthusiasts. Our journey began with the first tournament held from September 8-10, 1935, boasting an impressive participation of 50 avid golfers. Back then, annual dues were a mere $1.00, and the entry fee for the debut tournament was set at $2.00.
Over the years, we’ve witnessed the evolution of our tournaments, from the early days at Amarillo Country Club to our current home at Pampa Country Club. Since 1970, with the exception of 1981, our tournaments have graced the picturesque greens of Pampa Country Club, with entries capped at 160 players to accommodate our gracious hosts.
Our founder, O.T. Nicholson, envisioned our association as a haven for senior golfers, a place where camaraderie reigns supreme over competition. His words echo through the decades, reminding us that our tournaments are about more than just scores; they’re about the joy of the game and the bonds of friendship.
Inclusivity has always been at the heart of our association. While initially off-limits to members’ wives until 1940, they’ve since become an integral part of our annual gatherings, adding elegance and warmth to our events.
